Why (Net)Surfers Hate Their Parents

Just a rantble that came up when mom was in one of her "my baby's using the internet and I'm worried some deranged stalker-person might take her away" phases again. Not making much sense here I think.

So howdy there moms--note that this is a post that was made by a person who still lives with their parents so why the hell would you listen to me? Because, although you live with your kids and have been raising them since they were in their poopers, sometimes the one of the best people who can understand them is a person their age.

Going on, reading this, you probably know what it's about. Yeah, I'm gonna talk about why your kids hate you and how you might be able to fix it. Remember, this is advice--don't blame me for the outcome. I gave you a choice but it was up to you to decide.

Remember the good ol'days of old blogs like blogspot and friendster?

Yeah, we're not gonna talk about that.

Anyway, my mom showed me this vid earlier where the beginning was of President Obama talking about Facebook and how you should be safe about it. A few minutes there was a lady who said that giving a kid their privacy was a load of bull. Now that right there would render them to hate you. Note, parents, that some kids like sharing their thoughts, works, and work on the internet--and a lot of these kids are very competent, know that.

But what if you were the parent of a child who had so much talent and potential and just wanted to share this with the world? But not you?

"Oh please, I am more than enough for my child. Besides, they have their friends, they can share whatever it is with them." There's the thing, believe it or not, some kids don't feel like their parents and friends are enough. It's a sad thing really, but it's the truth. I myself feel the same at times and I don't think that's really wrong, I think it's perfectly natural.

Continuing on, there are also kids who just want to share their feelings with other people anonymously without parents knowing because, honestly, do you really want your mom and dad to know everything about you? Knowing exactly what you thought, exactly what you felt, and exactly how you would react? It sounds far fetched, I know, but like I said some kids feel that way and when they do, it's suffocating. It's almost like you have some odd ball stalker-dude of your own.

"So how can I monitor them and at the same time give them their privacy?" That there's a tricky question. Although, my advice is that you try what my mother and I did before we got a laptop.

Back then, we owned a PC, and I could do almost whatever the hell I wanted with it along with internet liberty. But there was this one downfall--the PC was encircled by three things, my mom's room, my room, and the staircase. Also, we lived in a house with more than just the two of us. So people regularly came and went to clean, to talk, to eat, etc. all while I was on the net.

I kind of hated it because I didn't get to do much with all the hubub. But it did allow my mom to not worry about what I did online, at the same time, I didn't have to worry about my mom breathing down my neck. Also, we had only one PC, and mom works from home, so meaning, I only had ample time to myself. I had my privacy of course--not as private as I'd hope, but private enough. Like using WiFi in Starbucks.

During the expanse of me and mom sharing a computer before having the laptop (which I keep in my room and use WiFi on) it gave me time to think. Since I was time-pressured, I had thoughts that went, "Do I really need this?" "What will I gain?" "So what if I have one?" Up to this day I have never had a myspace, friendster, plurk, twitter, facebook, etc. I had a blogspot once back in 2003, but I never used it not even once. And I only recently made a multiply account for selling work--and even then I still don't use my real name or info.

As thoughts raced through my head, I became more reasonable with the sites and why I should and shouldn't visit them. I earned a more responsible persona, something some kids me age would probably learn as well.

So long story short: Parents, put the PC in big open space--not too open, of course--give the kids like about two to three and a half, maybe, hours to do their stuff, and at the same time you never need to hover.

Another example would be some of my friends. One of them only have a laptop since their PC broke many moons ago and now all share their Acer in the living room. Which is cool since you can watch TV and surf at the same time. And I have another friend who has both a PC and a laptop but use both in their parents rooms since it's only allowed to do so their. Meaning, their mom, dad, and siblings come and go to check up on them, but they still have the room to themselves.

A bit of advice--up to you to take it.

The house on fire was in Jimena, which was to the left. It was just down the road and you could see it from a distance if you were on the second floor balcony. And here's what happened: As we look at the burning house I go,

"Has anyone called the fire dep.?"

"What's their number?"

The hell . . .

So I call them and they come just as the fire's over and go on to investigate.

BTW, the emergency hotline in the Phils. is 117--apparently not everyone is aware that an emergency hotline applies to not only the police but the hospital and fire dep. too. That or they really didn't know the frickin' number.

After all of this I have this tiny bit of pride in my head saying, "Hey good job!" Even though it was, like I dunno, I total misfire?

Before I continue, please be aware that this is a critique/reaction that I made to share my opinion. I hope no one takes it the wrong way and I also hope that I don't insult anyone. I apologize though if I did c:

We know that the Vocaloids have their own promotional illustrations, right? Here's just a little post I made about said illustrations and my opinion/comment/critique on them! Understand, I'm not going to focus on the program and voice--though I might mention it from time to time--I am mostly going to focus on the promotional illustrations. Please feel free to share your own opinion of course c: Let's begin!

MEIKO

Note, I'm not too sure who came first, KAITO or MEIKO. But since in a number of nico dramas I hear MEIKO being called "onee-san/nee-san" I thought she might've come first, so thus the first to critique about.
MEIKO, I will say I like mostly because she wears my favorite color--yes, yes, it's a shallow reason, I apologize. Going on, I'd have to say her illustration was quite plain, and her facial features quite generic. The reason for this I suppose was because she was the first to come out along with KAITO, so it would make sense that the art at the time was not as impressive as you might have hoped.

One thing I dislike about MEIKO's illustration though is her skirt. I'm not too fond of it, it looks stiff and somewhat unattractive to me. Maybe if it hugged around her thighs more?

KAITO

I believe there was more creativity in the making of KAITO's outfit as there was with MEIKO's. You can see that from the added detail on his sleeves and pant legs. Overall, I don't really think it to be too bad. Though, like MEIKO's, the artstyle is somewhat plain and a bit too cartoony, so I suppose that could be the downside of KAITO's image release.

Hatsune Miku

Of course, there's the most popular of the Vocaloids c: Miku's illustration was very fanservicy, but even then it was very appealing. Not to shabby if I may say. Aside from her clothes, her face is also quite attractive--which is a good thing for the company since it will help garner the audience's interest more.

I'd say the change in artstyle was a good choice and a great mass of people have taken a liking to Miku.

As for what I don't like about her? I'd say her theme color. (People say it's green. I think it's more blue, blue-green, or cyan really) I mean, it really got my attention, which is good at some points since it will grab the target market's attention easier. Although I'd say I wasn't too happy with it because I find it somewhat unappealing. Perhaps because it resembles too much a default color?

Kagemine Rin/Len

I quite like how the twins came out. They were eye-catching, they were attractive, and they were cute to boot. So I suppose I have no complaints really.

The only thing I--well, a friend of mine really ^^;--can really say about them is the difference in color. Notice how the black on Rin is far lighter, almost grey, to the black on Len. Now this might just be a technique in shading where the artist used a gradient method. But if you look closely, you can see that on the leggings, the shade really is different. Now weather the artist intended this or not is a mystery to us.

Another thing my friend noticed are the puffs on Len's sleeves. Not exactly the manliest fashion statement, but suppose the artist wasn't going for manly? Even so, I don't really think puffed sleeves would be a good choice for a fourteen year-old boy, wouldn't you say?

Kamui Gackpo

I, kind of, have no words.

I can understand that they were originally going for a samurai-feel for Gackpo's outfit, but I personally believe they could've done a far better job than this. I mean, is that lipstick I see? I thought he was a girl at first!

Although Gackpo's voice is quite impressive, I can't really say the same for his attire. Perhaps if the eccentric neon turtleneck was just a blue turtleneck? Or purple? With not too many designs on it?

I have too much to say about Gackpo, but I feel that if I let too much out I might drift off topic and just hurt someone. So I think I'll just leave it at, "Very, very, different in a very queer way." (By queer, I don't mean gay) Although there are times when fanart makes his outfit very attractive.

Megurine Luka

I'd have to say I am most happy with Luka's promotional illustration. Her color theme is attractive, interesting, and easy on the eyes. Her outfit--although very unique--is very appealing and elegant. And her voice program is very nice as well.

So far, I have no complaints about Luka. I find her outfit a step out of status-quo though, and that is all I will say.

Megpoid

I can't say I am all too happy with the artist for Gumi. The technique in coloring could require more skill, I'd say, and the drawing itself? I suppose, like Gackpo, could've done more with more effort.

Also, I don't really find Gumi's outfit all too appealing. She reminds me more of a tangerine than a carrot really ^^; So, I suppose, it could've been better if there was more effort put to it I guess.

Sonika

I think that this was a bad time to try out making using a 3D program to make the characters. I mean, if drawn 2D, Sonika actually looks very pretty. But the 3D promotion wasn't all too impressive.

Also, I don't really think Sonika's looks are quite original. To me, she's MEIKO with Gumi's colors redone. I mean, she even has a mic like MEIKO. So, no, this fan wasn't all too impressed when she came out.

So I guess that's all I have to share with everyone.

Feel free to share your ideas as well ;D

So in a couple of months I'm turning 18. I'M OLD D: Going on, I have a plan for a debut that I thought of about a month ago and mom and I are making plans.

So far this is what we've agreed on: 20's Theme. Well, that's what I wanted in the beginning anyway. So, all of those who can come, may come ;D

In the meantime, have a tango vid. Hopefully the debut's just like this 8D

<lj-embed id="10" />

So, since I failed my ALGEB-X in first year, I had to take it again since there's another class that I have to take after that.

First off, I'm scared I might not pass again D: I mean, second term for second year just began and on the first day everything was going fine. We had homework for math first, and I was confident in it because I had a number of friends helping out. But then I went to the other meeting--dear Lord. Not only was I late, I don't think I even got a grade of ten! And it's out of forty! D:

I just want to be able to pass math this time and the next. Please God! Grant me the ability to pass!

On another note, I might join laceandflora , pretty pics 8DDD And since I'm practicing fantasy--might as well ;D

Image by charmcitychica posted at laceandflora .

<lj-embed id="8" />
Uploaded in May.01.2009
Made by Ryuusei-P

In today's post~ I'm going to talk about the Vocaloid song, magnet (yes, with a small M), that's been hitting fans and has now turned into a full out net meme.
Truth is I've gotten hooked into the song and fell for it--in my iTunes I have the clear and 蛇足 version. The PV's gotten really popular for both song and image that it's almost impossible not to find it in both niconico and youtube. There are so many different dubs you can just browse and take a pick! The best dub I've heard so far would be that of Hitori and che:sakurai:

<lj-embed id="9" /></lj-embed>

And yes! It's two girls singing! I was shocked too, but then again it's Hitori so I shouldn't be all too surprised X)

But there is one thing I've noticed while looking through the MADs of this. My friends and I would sometimes joke about the song being gay XDD And this was odd for me too! 8D

Note, I have nothing against homosexuality, and I myself am a proud fujoshi (yaoi fan), so why do I say gay? Allow me to explain: The song, when it came out was originally sung by Luka and Miku, thus it has it's yuri theme. We can suppose that the song was intended to be yuri, so I ask, "Why are there so maby BL MAD's?" (oAo)!!!

I wouldn't be surprised that there are vast amounts of yuri MAD's too, and maybe the reason why there's so many BL MADs of magnet uploaded on youtube is because of fujoshi like myself. Though I can't help but think--the men are doing this willingly, and with dialog too! I mean, seriously! There's the one of clear and 蛇足, the infamous ぱにょ and ５コマスベリ (Ponyo and 5combasuberi)--who have now made a small nico series of their own, and so many more:

Mucchi and Koge
みーちゃん and レミュー
tane and zero
男女 and ５人で
ASK and faneru
歌ってみた
Koizume and Kyon (YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT)
terry×クノール
ゆよゆっぺ and 猫鉈

Also there's been one made by YU＆G to which is an arranged version. Meaning it's the same background music but different lyrics.

Sometimes there are even ones where the singers have dialogs and others where moaning, and groaning, and panting, and the screaming, and IT'S TOO MUCH FOR MY GIRLISH HEART! XDD And fans are especially happy that the KAITO and Gakupo version that was uploaded a month ago. Honestly, this pairing needs more love.

To clarify, I have nothing against the dubs. I'm just confused and curious as to how this all happened XDD This sometimes brings me to the question "What goes through the mind of a hentai/yaoi seiyu when working?"

In conclusion ladies and jellybeans--to end my ramblings, I foung magnet "gay/odd" because it was originally a yuri PV and yet there are so many yaoi MADs with niconico singers that are willing to sing for them :D Not that I'm complaining of course ;D

The truth isn't always what you think it to be.

You know what's unbelievably stupid? Not stupid literally, more of stupid, Oh-the-irony-is-incredibly-idiotic-that-I-shall-laugh-my-ass-off-stupid. Is that back then, a reeeally small majority of people in the prehistoric years--in which Shippuden wasn't even a reality yet--thought that Sasuke would turn into the dark side and be an Akatsuki member and wear the same outfit as Itachi. Everyone shunned those people and said "OMGWTF?! That'd never happen! What's wrong with you?" or would believe it only to be a joke.
And yet, we end up with this:

I have to say, I don't know weather to be happy with the outfit change or not.

Oh Karin, you are the embodiment of a Sasuke fangirl and what Sakura once was. Even if fangirls of the same kind deny it all they want.

(Thank the Lord for Sakura changing, hopefully she'll stay that way.)

    <lj:music>Rockstar - Nickelback</lj:music>

I did actually. I was in front of the compy watching Shippuden the movie right after Mangaholix that I heard screaming. It sounded like a kid. Screaming for help.
Hears the down low. I was in front of the compy, right? Then I hear the sound of a motorcycle passing by. Now, that's not unnatural here. I always hear cars and such passing by. But what shocked me--scared me--was that, while the sound of a motor came passing by, I could hear screams of kids. I could hear "Tulong! Tulong!<super>1</super>" It sounded like more then one child. And I'm not sure, but I think they were screaming for their parents, or screaming about their parents.
This isn't the first time this has happened. The first time was a few months ago when I heard screaming as well. Mom said it was probably nothing and people already called the officials. I didn't believe that.
So now, after I heard the screaming, I called the emergency hot line. I told them what happened. I don't know what they'll do, but I hope they at least check up on what's happened. This really freaks me out.

I had two subjects today. I was late for the first one and was in time for the last thirty minutes of the last one. How was I in all of this. I felt so damn mellow I thought my brain would pop from hot air*.
I met two kids, Ivan (that's E then van--I think that's his name XDD) and a really cute sweet girl whose name I can never remember. It started with an N, that's all I remember! But our get-together was more or less by force since we had to have partners for an activity, but better this than nothing! And I'm taking this offer thankyouverymuch!
I hope that this acquaintanceship may bloom to full blown friendship.
    It's a new life and a new start I hope be a success :3
